Sections

Sections let you organize notes into groups like “Work”, “Personal”, or “Ideas”. When you save a note, Hermes automatically suggests which section it belongs to based on its content. You can accept the suggestion, choose a different section, or leave it uncategorized. Manage sections from the section management button in the Notes view — create, rename, reorder, or delete them. Use the filter bar to show only notes from a specific section.

Reminders

Set a reminder on any note and Hermes schedules a macOS notification at the time you choose.
Hermes needs the Reminders permission to schedule notifications. See Permissions.

Calendar events

Link a note to a calendar event to keep meeting notes, agendas, or follow-ups connected to your schedule.

Duplicate detection

When you save a note with content similar to an existing note, Hermes warns you before creating a duplicate.

Auto-classify

By default, new notes are automatically placed into the right section by AI. To review suggestions before they’re applied, turn off Auto-Classify in the section management sheet. Notes will still get a suggestion — you just approve it first.

Syncing to other apps

Notes can be synced to Apple Notes. Configure the destination when setting up a Note Capture trigger.
